Which One Feels Right?

Four ways to coach. Pick what clicks with how you think.

People think differently. Some need structure. Some need to explore beliefs. Some want to build on strengths.

Try all four in 5 minutes each. See which one feels like it gets you. That's the one you'll use for 12 weeks.

GROW

For people who like plans

What is this?

GROW is for people who like clear steps. You want structure. A path from A to B. Tangible outcomes. This isn't touchy-feely. It's practical: figure out the goal, look at reality, brainstorm options, commit to action.

Is this you?

  • You like checklists and clear next steps
  • You're more "what do I DO?" than "why do I feel this way?"
  • You have a specific goal in mind (career change, new skill, better habits)
  • You get frustrated when things feel too abstract

What happens in a session

Goal: "What do you want? What does success look like?"

Reality: "What's happening now? What have you tried? What's in the way?"

Options: "What could you do? What else? What if you had no limits?"

Will: "What will you actually do? When? How committed are you?"

Example: You want better time management. We nail down what that looks like (leaving work by 6pm). Look at what's keeping you late (emails, meetings). Brainstorm options (turn off Slack, delegate tasks). You commit: "I'll turn off notifications during my focus block, starting tomorrow."

Transformational

For when your beliefs are the problem

What is this?

Transformational is for when you're stuck in your head. You keep hitting the same wall. You've tried tactics, but something deeper is blocking you. This method goes after beliefs, identity, meaning. Who do you need to become?

Is this you?

  • You self-sabotage and don't know why
  • You hear yourself say "I'm just not that kind of person"
  • You're stuck in a story about yourself that doesn't serve you
  • You want change that sticks, not just surface fixes

What happens in a session

We dig into how you see yourself. What you believe about your capabilities. Where those beliefs came from. What's possible if you try on a new story. Less "what should I do?" More "who am I becoming?"

Example: You want to start a business but don't see yourself as an entrepreneur. "Entrepreneurs are bold risk-takers. I'm cautious." We explore that belief. Where'd it come from? Is it true? What if you're resourceful, not reckless? What becomes possible then?

Strengths-Based

Build on what works

What is this?

Strengths-based is for when you're tired of fixing what's "wrong." Instead: what's working? What are you naturally good at? When do you feel energized? Let's do more of that. Growth comes from leveraging strengths, not obsessing over weaknesses.

Is this you?

  • You're drained from trying to "improve your weaknesses"
  • You know what you're good at but aren't using it enough
  • You want to feel energized, not exhausted, by your work
  • You've had wins before and want to figure out how to repeat them

What happens in a session

We mine for gold. When have you succeeded? What were you doing? What strengths showed up? How can you use those same strengths to tackle your current challenge? It's less "fix yourself," more "amplify what's already there."

Example: You're job hunting and feeling stuck. We look at when you felt successfulβ€” that cross-functional project you led. You're great at collaboration, strategy, communication. Your current role? Individual, task-focused. No wonder you're drained. Let's find roles that use those strengths daily.

🧘

Mindful

When everything feels too loud

What is this?

Mindful is for when you need to slow down. You're reactive. Overwhelmed. Disconnected from what you're feeling. This method helps you pause, notice what's happening in your body, listen to emotions as data. Clarity comes from presence, not more thinking.

Is this you?

  • You're stressed, anxious, or burned out
  • You react fast and regret it later
  • You're in your head so much you've lost touch with your body
  • You need space before you can figure out what to do

What happens in a session

We start with breath. Notice what's happening in your body. What emotion is present? What's it telling you? From that grounded place, what becomes clear? Less rushing to action, more tuning in to what you already know.

Example: You're anxious about a presentation. We pause. "Take a breath. What do you notice?" Tension in your chest. Anxiety. "What's the anxiety telling you?" That this matters. That you care about doing well. From that place of knowing what you value, you realize you're over-preparing because you don't trust yourself. What would it feel like to trust?
